2011 What a Great Year

I have to say that 2011 has been an awesome year and we have trult been blessed. The greatest part of 2011 would have to be Roy graduating. He is such and inspiration to our family. He put a lot of hard work into his school and I thought it was great for our children to see their Dad achieve this great goal. So with student teaching over and finally graduating it came time to find a job. Roy got a temp job working at Nestle that he tried to love but it was definitely not his favorite job in the world. We watched vigilantely for a teaching position to come open and as it came time for school to start nothing, and we watched school start and nothing. Then a friend told us that E*Trade was hiring and while it wasn't teaching we felt like this might be something we should look into. And with Roy's dashing good looks and awesome personality he of course got the job. So for the past 3 months Roy has been working at E*Trade learning to be a stock broker, Life takes turns in ways that you don't expect but we feel like this is where Roy is supposed to be and feel very blessed. He is currently 1st counselor in the Elders Quorom and to his surprise he loves it and doesn't miss Young Men's as much as he thought he would. Heather is, as always, enjoying be an at home Mom. Life just gets busier as the children get older. She does try to take a little time for herself and go running or do aerobics. She got released from the Primary Presidency and loves her calling as an Activity day leader and can hardly wait until April when Alyssa gets to join in. Alyssa is getting too grown up. She is an excellent reader and is a huge help to her Mom. She likes to read, do math, play girlie thing, dance, and gymnastics. She is excited to get to play basketball in January. Gary is full of energy and absolutely loves kindergarten. One day he got the stomach flu and threw up, I told him he would have to miss school the next day. His reply was "give me another chance Mom." He loves to read and is constantly reminding me that he needs to do his homework. He still loves fishing and he has found another love in life. He loves to play soccer and did awesome this year. Steven is adorable and is so smart. He was able to pull one over on his Daddy. Roy taught the kids about how to "Candy Jinx" someone. Alyssa and Gary were trying so hard to get their Dad to say the same thing as them but were not able to. Then Stevie innocently asked his Daddy "will you count with me?" So of course Roy says yeah "1, 2, 3" and then Stevie said "Candy Jinx." He totally got his Daddy, that is one smart 3 year old. He is now 4 and taller then most of Gary's 5 year old friends. Then there's Jaydn, he is almost 18 months and he keeps us on our toes. We have never had such a trouble maker that gets into everything. But he has the cutest little smile that makes things okay, most of the time. He loves life and loves to play and if he had his choice would stay outside all the time. Life has treated the Taylor family great this year. We are so greatful for our many blessing and most of all for the Savior and for all he has done for us!

Jaydn was hillarious on his birthday, when we gave him his cake he didn't care to have anything to do with it, until we showed him the strawberries in the middle. He then gobbled those up and left the cake. He is such a sweet boy and is a great addition to our family. He has so much energy and makes everyone smile. I do have to say he is a bit of a stinker though, he gets into everything he can and is not supposed to. He has the "Jaydn scowl" that he gives to everybody. He loves balls and animals. and if there is a shoe to be found he is quick to through it down the stairs.

we had so much fun camping with the Garza's and can hardly wait to do a repeat. The only bad part was Gary falling and cutting his hand open and needing to head down the mountain to get stitches, let's not repeat that. But Gary was so brave and didn't even cry, what a big guy!

I had to throw in a pic of Thomas and Jaydn, coousins who are 6 weeks apart. We loved going to the fountains this summer, with Grandma Bezzant. Gary started soccer and loves it, he's even scored twice so far.

Life s busy, and with Jaydn being a very hands on baby who does not like to nap I find it hard to up date this very often, okay who am I kidding I have never been great at keeping this up to date. But here are a few pictures of what's going on. Alyssa Started school, our big first grader, and she is loving it. We blessed Jaydn, what an awesome day that was. The kids still love the baby and things are foing well.

Jaydn Frederick Taylor

Jaydn was born July 15 at 12:15 am. He weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. He is such a fun addition to our family and the kids can't get enough of him. Alyssa fell instantly in love with him when she saw him, Gary was excited because they have the same hair color and Steve is just excited to be a big brother.

More Catching Up

Easter was a lot of fun. We had the family come over for easter egg hunts and a brunch after. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Aunt Karen for the eggs and for bringing Great Grandma to join us.

It would seem that Alyssa is more like her Uncle Charles then having the same haircolor. Alyssa has a new hobby of catching snakes, gives me the heeby geebies.

we all knew that Steve was going to be our first stitches or broken bone and he didn't let us down. It was sad getting the owie was a lot less traumatizing then getting the stiches. When the do stitches for little kids they put them in a pappos thing to keep them strapped down, and of course Stevie broke out of that and so I had toheold his arms and they needed 2 nurses to hold his head. Not fun!!!

Alyssa had pirate day at school and so of course the boys wanted to join in as well.

Catching up

Alyssa had a great birthday! She is so fun and has such fun friends as well. She had fun making dresses with her friends at her party and had a pinata and just played. My favorite part of her birthday was beinng woken up by an adorable little girl in a dress and a party hat, she was way excited for her birthday. Later she had a surprise birthday party with the family.

Gary had an awesome birthday and he had his first friend party, what a cute group of 4 year olds. He is so fun and full of life, he brings excitement to whatever we do. His favorite part of the party was the pinata.

I know, I am not the best at keeping this blog up to date so here are a few pics to make up for it. We've had Christmas, Gary and Alyssa's birthdays!

Fishing Trip

We had a great family fishing trip, it was pretty windy and so Gary and Alyssa decided to spend most of the time in the car, but Stevie was a trooper and stuck it out the whole time. We caught a lot of fish and had a lot of fun. Roy was the big fisher and caught a pretty good size fish. It was fun.

Grandpa and Grandma Taylor got these awesome scrubs for the kids. And they love them I don't even get a chance to fold them the second they come out of the dryer the kids are putting them on again. Good jobs guys!!!

Happy Birthday Steve

Steve had a great birthday filled with his two favorite things Scooby Doo and Fishing. He got a new Scooby Doo movie, a Spiderman fishing pole, a tackle box and he even got to go fishing with Gary, Grandpa and Dad. It was pretty funny when I asked Gary if he would take Steve fishing for his birthday he responded "Umm, Mom, there's one problem." Me "What's that?" Gary "I can't drive." Because I was going to let him take stev by himself. and then I asked Alyssa if she would be in charge of decorating, her conversation with Gary about it "Gary you and Dad and Grandpa can take Steve fishing and I'll see if Mom and Grandma will stay with me and help me decorate." Because we were just going to leave her home by herself if she hadn't asked.

We had a great halloween. Friday night we went to the trunk or treat and Saturday night we went to Grandma and Grandpa B's neighborhood for trick or treating. It was a lot of fun with Scooby Doo, Spiderman, two Beautiful Princesses and William Wallace.

Pre-school

Gary started Pre-school and he loves it, he feels very big! We had to work hard to make sure he is didn't show everyone his new scooby doo underwear, sorry Grandma. He is getting so grown up and it's fun to watch that sparkle in his eye. He's so cute when I go to pick he him up he busts out of the door and runs and gives me a hug and can't tell me fast enough what he did that day, it's adorable.

First Day of Kindergarten

I can hardly believe that Alyssa started kindergarten today, it's crazy is she really that old. I still remember her as my little baby. We are so excited for her to take this step in her life and are proud of the little girl that she is. It was so cute last night Roy gave her a blessing to start off the school year, then Gary asked if he could have one and then Steve climbed up into the chair and wanted one too, the smile on his face couldn't have been any bigger it was a neat experience!

summer almost over

wow, is summer really almost over. It has gone by so fast. We have had a lot of fun camping, fishing, swimming, and spending time with family. we went on a great trip to Half Moon bay in California and spent time with the Conran's, it was awesome they are amazing people. The kids loved finding seashells on the beach, there were thousands of shells around and Gary still got excited everytime he found one "oh, another shell!" Then we headed to Oregon for the Taylor family reunion, I learned first hand why they saw that you can watch the fog roll in because we camped by the beach and you could literally watch the fog roll in. we had a great day at the petting zoo and the kids had a blast. Thanks Grandma Taylor. We've enjoyed having fun water days at the Gundersen's, thanks Kathleen I'll miss getting to see you guys weekly. We had some fun outings with the Wolfe's. I'm not ready for summer to be over but Alyssa is totally stoked to start kindergarten in a couple of weeks, and Gary to start pre-school. Two days a week with just me and Steve for a couple of hours what will we do?

I did this cake for my cousin Chelsea and thought it turned out quite nicely. I think the flowers on the top weren't quite centered but when I went to move them the lady saw me and about had a heart attack, so I left them alone.

We had a fun fishing to trip to Scofield. Lots of fish were caught, lots of fun and a first. Steven caught his first fish by himself.

Seriously, what can be cuter than 2 little boys fishing for socks. One while folding laundry Gary decided that the basket was his boat and the socks were their fish, I had a hard time getting my socks back to finish folding.

I know, I am just about the most up to date blogger there ever was. The family is doing well. Roy and Heather started a new semester of school. Heather is just taking a few internet classes and really liking it, surprisingly. Roy is glad that he can understand his Microeconomics teacher. Alyssa is happy to be back at school after the break and enjoying computer class and gymnastics. Gary is enjoying fishing, computer class and fishing. Steven is following in his brothers footsteps with interest in fish and fishing (is it really genetic?) and is a handful.

Santa Claus

We went to a wonderful Christmas party on Sat. Where the kids got to see Santa Claus(thankyou great grandma Bezzant.) It was so cute when he got there Gary was so excited he could barely contain himself. Alyssa was excited as well, and atleast Steve didn't cry (Sorry Brooke, maybe next year you'll like him!)

Overview of 2008

I can hardly believe that Christmas is just around the corner, and here we are at the end of another year. Just the other day I was looking at Alyssa and could hardly believe how grown up she is, Gary not too far behind and Steven is no longer my little baby(okay so he's never been little.) Time definitely gets away from you. This has been a pretty good year for us. Alyssa is in pre-school and is sooo excited for kindergarten next year. She is still loving gymnastics and tried out soccer but it wasn't her favorite, she is thinking about giving it another shot though. Gary is still just as crazy about fishing as ever and enjoys his computer class. He also has found room in his life for Scooby Doo when he's not fishing, you should have him tell you a story about him and Scooby Doo and the gang he's pretty funny and very animated. Steven has conquered the walking challenge and is now everywhere. And it looks like he will be following in Gary's fishing footsteps. The first thing he crawled to was a fishing pole and he gets so excited when he sees fish real or picture (here we go again :)) Roy is still enjoying working for Powerhouse Electric. And has really started enjoying his kids getting older, he is definitely one of Gary's favorite fishing partners (grandpa Bezzant is a close second.) Heather is still enjoying being at home with the kids, and occasional tries to find time to go running (not as much as she should though.) We are looking forward to a fun 2009. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Growing Up

I can't believe that in a year Alyssa will be in Kindergarten, it seems like it was yesterday when I found out I was going to have her and could hardly wait. Now She's so grown up and loving life. She is so much fun and I love experiencing life with her.

We had a blast on Halloween. We had the teenage mutant ninja turtle (Alyssa's idea), sorry I don't have a picture of the fourth Ninja Turtle (Roy). We ogt way too much candy and the kids had a lot of fun. And thanks to Grandpa Bezzant for asking Gary to get some candy for him Gary got extra candy everywhere we went "Need one for Grandpa, too."

This little boy is the most obsessed with fishing person I know. And that is saying something given his heritage. Rainbow, Blue Gill, White Bass, Walleye, and Perch are just a few of the fish he has caught. Even more impressive he can tell you the names of these fish when he sees their picture!

Kids Grow Way Too Fast

I can hardly believe that Alyssa is 4 Gary is 2 and Steven is 6 months old. It seems like yesterday I was wondering if I'd ever get married and have children and now here we are. Alyssa just gets smarter everyday and teaches me things all the time. The other morning she woke Roy and i up with a wonderful rendition of Twinkle Little Star, only she was still sleeping. Gary is bound to succeed in life as long as he grabs hold of what he wants with as much ferver as he has with fish and fishing. He is slowly realizing there are a few other things in the world then fish and fishing though, there are also worms that you go fishing with that he loves to look for! Steven is growing and growing. Amazingly enough him and Gary fit in the same size diaper. And he is starting to be able to sit up a little bit. Roy has completed another semester of school and we are looking forward to a fun family time filled summer.

Story Time with Grandpa

After Steven was born we got to have Grandpa Taylor visit us. It was wonderful, the kids really got to know and love their Grandpa. It was exciting for us to watch Alyssa and Gary develop a good relationship with Grandpa Taylor and Grandma Sylvia. We were very sad to see them go, it was a good visit!

Gary had a blast hanging out with Grandpa one Saturday, getting to see Grandpa's "big fish." I don't know any other 2 year old who will spend two hours helping Grandpa fillet fish and not get bored at all.
